Your most common questions about our Courchevel ski school: languages, instructors, insurance, gear, and private lessons.
All our instructors are fully qualified ski professionals, each holding the carte professionnelle — the official certification required to teach legally in France.
But beyond the paperwork, our team is made up of individuals who have lived and breathed skiing from a very young age. Many of our instructors are former ski racers, and all have grown up on snow, developing their skills through years of training and competition.
Today, they bring that same passion and deep technical knowledge into their teaching. With extensive international teaching experience and a talent for adapting their approach to each skier, they know how to make every lesson both effective and enjoyable — whether you’re just starting out or looking to push your limits.
To ensure a smooth and effective learning experience, we generally recommend that participants in a shared private lesson have similar skill levels.
This allows the instructor to set an appropriate pace and focus on the needs of the group as a whole. If your group includes skiers with very different experience levels — for example, a complete beginner and others with some skiing experience — we suggest booking two instructors (or more, depending on group size).
This way, each person receives the right level of attention, tailored feedback, and exercises suited to their ability. Having dedicated instructors for each level ensures that everyone can progress confidently, feel supported, and fully enjoy their time on the mountain without pressure or frustration.
Our team will coordinate timing, meeting points, and logistics so that you can still enjoy shared moments together before, during, or after the lesson.
We love working with families and fully understand the desire to share your ski experience together. That said, for the best learning results — and everyone’s enjoyment — we recommend that adults and young children take private lessons separately.
This is because children under 7 or 8 years old learn in a very different way compared to adults. Their lessons are based on fun, games, and intuitive movement, while adult instruction tends to be more technical and structured. When taught separately, children also tend to stay more focused and gain confidence more quickly.
For family groups with children aged 8 or older, it is possible to ski together in the same session — provided that all participants are of a similar level. In these cases, your instructor will adapt the lesson to suit everyone’s abilities and expectations, offering individual tips and feedback while keeping a fun, relaxed, and social atmosphere.
If your group includes younger children, we recommend booking two instructors — one for the adults and one for the little ones — so that everyone receives age-appropriate teaching and gets the most out of the day.
Our team will coordinate both instructors so that meeting points, lunch breaks, and shared moments on the slopes can still be enjoyed as a family.
A private ski school offers far more than just personalised instruction. You’ll enjoy flexible scheduling, coaching tailored to your individual goals, and an elevated level of service throughout your experience.
For families or groups of friends with different skiing levels, we can provide multiple instructors during the same time slot. This allows each person to progress at their own pace, while our team coordinates every detail — from synchronized lesson times and lift access to lunch bookings, pick-ups, drop-offs, and even optional après-ski activities.
One of the key benefits is priority access to the ski lifts (where available), allowing you to skip the lines and enjoy more time skiing instead of waiting. This exclusive advantage is available when skiing with one of our instructors.
Courchevel Elite takes care of everything, so you can relax and enjoy your skiing without any worries.
NO, the cost of lessons DOES NOT include accident or liability insurance. We strongly recommend that all clients have personal liability and accident insurance before starting lessons. This will protect you in case of injury or if you accidentally cause damage to others on the slopes. If you wish, you can easily add accident insurance to your ski pass for around €3.50 per day when you buy it.
Please refer to our cancellation policy or contact us directly. We’ll always do our best to accommodate changes. However, please note that our instructors are independent professionals who are reserved specifically for your sessions. For this reason, cancellations are subject to our terms and conditions, as their availability is limited and managed through advance booking.
